Substantial rewards offered following London mansion burglary

According to an article published by the BBC on 31 December 2024, victims of a £10m jewellery raid at a mansion on Avenue Road in London have offered rewards totaling up to £1.5m. The incident, which the Metropolitan Police believe occurred on 7 December between 17:00 and 17:30 GMT, involved a suspect entering the property through a second-floor window.

The stolen items, valued at approximately £10.4m, include unique pieces such as De Beers butterfly diamond rings, Katherine Wang sapphire earrings, and a Van Cleef necklace, alongside £150,000 in designer handbags and £5,000 in cash. The suspect is described as a white male in his late 20s or 30s, wearing a dark hoodie, cargo pants, and a grey baseball cap.

The family spokesperson stated that the heist appeared to be a pre-planned professional job. The Metropolitan Police noted that many of the stolen items are unique and easily identifiable. The offered rewards include £500,000 for information leading to a conviction, plus 10% of the value of any recovered jewellery.

Ensure all upper-floor windows are securely locked and consider installing advanced alarm systems to protect your property.
