Substantial reward offered following London mansion burglary

According to an article published by the BBC on 31 December 2024, victims of a major jewellery raid at a mansion on Avenue Road in London have offered rewards totalling up to £1.5m. The theft, which occurred on 7 December, resulted in the loss of items valued at approximately £10.4m, including unique diamond rings, designer handbags, and cash.

The Metropolitan Police report that the suspect, described as a man in his late 20s or 30s, gained entry to the property through a second-floor window between 17:00 and 17:30 GMT. The family spokesperson described the incident as a pre-planned professional job, noting that a member of staff narrowly avoided a confrontation with the intruder.

Authorities have confirmed that the stolen goods include highly distinctive pieces that are easily identifiable. The offered rewards consist of £500,000 for information leading to a conviction, plus 10% of the value of any recovered jewellery. The investigation remains ongoing as police seek to locate the stolen property and identify the perpetrator.

Ensure all windows and entry points are securely locked and consider installing monitored alarm systems to enhance the protection of your residence.
