Police appeal for information following Padiham shop robbery
According to an article published on 3 October 2024 by Lancslive, Lancashire Police are seeking public assistance following a knifepoint robbery at the Best One shop on Burnley Road, Padiham. The incident occurred shortly before 7:45 am on Tuesday, 2 October.
Lancslive reports that masked suspects entered the premises and demanded the shopkeeper open the till. When the victim refused, one individual produced a kitchen knife and threatened him. The suspects were unable to open the till but proceeded to steal £600 worth of cigarettes, placing them into a black rucksack before fleeing the scene.
DS Sean Goddard of Burnley CID stated that a dedicated team is working to identify the suspects. While no arrests have been made, police have released CCTV footage in the hope that members of the public can identify the individuals based on their clothing or movements. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the authorities, quoting log 188 of 1 October 2024.
Business owners are encouraged to review their security protocols and ensure that staff are trained in emergency response procedures.
