Residential burglary leads to prison sentence
According to an article published on 4 July 2025 by Stokesentinel, a man has been sentenced to three years in prison following a residential burglary in Stoke-on-Trent. Jordan Lowndes, 21, was part of a group that forced entry into a property on Fraser Street, Burslem, on 28 January.
Stokesentinel reports that the intruders entered the bedroom of a 16-year-old girl, stealing £30 and a set of car keys. When confronted by the occupant, the group threatened him with a machete before fleeing in the victim’s Ford Kuga. Forensic evidence, including fingerprints found at the scene, linked Lowndes to the crime.
The stolen vehicle was later spotted by police in March, leading to a pursuit across several roads, including the A50. Lowndes eventually abandoned the car in a field near Trowbridge Crescent in Bentilee, where he was tracked and arrested. Lowndes pleaded guilty to charges including dwelling burglary and aggravated vehicle taking. In addition to his custodial sentence, he has been banned from driving for 32 months.
Ensure all external doors and windows are securely locked at night and consider installing a high-quality home security system to deter intruders.
