Incident reported at Pontypool McDonald’s

According to an article published on 19 April 2024 by Walesonline, Gwent Police are investigating a robbery that occurred in the car park of a McDonald’s restaurant in Pontypool. The incident took place on Thursday, 18 April, at approximately 4:45 pm.

Walesonline reports that a 73-year-old man was allegedly assaulted by another individual during the encounter. The victim sustained minor injuries, and his mobile phone was taken during the robbery. Following the incident, a 51-year-old man from Pontypool was arrested on suspicion of robbery and remains in police custody.

Gwent Police are currently appealing for witnesses to come forward. Authorities are requesting that anyone with relevant information, CCTV footage, or dashcam recordings contact them by calling 101 or by sending a direct message to Gwent Police, quoting log reference 2400125242.
