Second burglary at Minster Lovell shop
According to an article published by Oxfordmail on 27 December 2024, a village shop in Minster Lovell has been forced to close following a break-in. The Spar shop, located on Brize Norton Road, was targeted by five thieves who broke into the premises at approximately 1.25am on Friday, 27 December.
Oxfordmail reports that the suspects stole a cash machine and caused extensive damage to shelves, floors, and chillers during the incident. This event marks the second time the family-run business has been burgled in the past three months, with the shop’s doors having only recently been replaced following a previous incident in September.
Thames Valley Police have launched an investigation into the matter. Owners of the shop, who reside above the property, were present during the incident but remain safe. The business will remain closed for the foreseeable future while the owners assess the damage. Authorities are urging anyone with information regarding the burglary to contact them via 101, quoting reference 43240624117.
Business owners are encouraged to regularly review and upgrade their physical security measures to deter unauthorized access.
