According to Walesonline, the total financial loss to the business amounted to £7,676, with an additional £1,848 in property damage.
The perpetrator was identified through DNA evidence found at the scene and CCTV footage. He pleaded guilty to two counts of commercial burglary at Merthyr Tydfil Crown Court. The judge noted the impact of the crimes on a valuable local business during the sentencing hearing.
Business owners are encouraged to regularly review and upgrade their physical security measures, including reinforced window coverings and alarm systems, to deter unauthorized access.
